What Happens when you receive an offer
With Cotters Estate Agents, Northampton.
Once an offer has been made on your property, we will inform you so that you can make a decision.
You don’t need to decide right away, so you have time to think on any offers received before deciding whether to accept or decline them.
Once you accept an offer and inform us, the legal proceedings can start.
The buyer will arrange for a survey of the property. In most cases, the survey results will be that everything is fine. However, if the results from this are that the property needs a lot of work doing, or if the surveyor gives the property a down valuation, renegotiation may be required.
The solicitors will make the contracts that will reference information about the property and sale such as the agreed price, any fixtures and fittings which are included and if there are any planning restrictions.
A date for completing the property sale will be mutually agreed on and included into the contracts as well.
Once both the buyer and seller agree the contracts, these are signed and then exchanged. This then completes the selling process.
