Moving into your new rented home

So, you’ve chosen a property and sorted all the finances out, congratulations, you’re now ready to move into your new home!

It’s a good idea to make a list of everything you plan to bring with you so that you don’t risk forgetting anything. Always remember to redirect your post from your old address to your new one so that important letters don’t get lost.

There are many different utility companies out there with good deals on electricity and gas, searching online can help you to find the best deals. We can help advise you with this if you’re unsure.

As well as utilities, you will most likely require a broadband and TV service provider, you can look for a new one or in some cases you can arrange with your current provider and they will switch your services to your new home.

On your moving in day, you will receive the keys to your new property and the tenancy agreement which you will need to sign.

You will receive an out of hours telephone number to contact us if you have an emergency such as your heating failing in the winter months. We have a page about emergencies here on our website for you to look through in case you’re unsure.

A full inventory of the property and photos are taken to ensure the condition before you move in. You will have 7 days to check through this and return it to us.

Once you’re happy with everything, you will just need to move all your personal belongings and that’s it! You’ve completed the moving in process.
